Good points Empress & Wil. If something’s working, how wise is it to listen and change things because someone says you should?

if they are in fact successful and not just totally full of bunk

Wil I agree about ‘pros’ and ‘brilliants’ whose mouths are writing cheques their butts can’t cash (throw a nickel over your shoulder online and you’ll hit a couple dozen of them), but in this case the people I’m talking about are pretty established and proven. At least that’s what I understand .

Peter I really don’t like links pointing off site in the comments, that’s for the URI field, but this time I’m leaving yours in because it does add to the convo–thanks.

If anyone has a link to add, please contact me first--thank you :).

I had a little rant about this here Google Strikes Again but I think your article is more constructive :)

One thing I've found over the years is that a lot of the 'advice' for achieving success offered by experts and 'gurus' or whatever might be OK, but in many cases it's not how they achieved success (if they are in fact successful and not just totally full of bunk).

Do what works for you. If you're making your visitors happy, then you are adding value, regardless of what Google or anybody else thinks!

Rock on, Terry! \m/ :)

Cheers,

I'm so glad you said that. Seriously. I think as affiliate marketers we end up trying to be everything for everyone - search engines/shoppers/searchers... and in the end please no one.

If you've got something that works and it's not broken... then don't change it. Because, like you said, Google and the other engines change their algorithims all the time - and then we play catch up with them.

We just have to stick to it... or stick it to the "man". :P
