I have the account setup at ScotiaBank and it works slick. It's a U.S. Dollar Savings Account, no monthly fee at all if you keep a balance of $200 U.S. or more. If the balance is less, I believe it's a $1 monthly charge. Every month I go to the bank (no atm service with these accounts unfortunately), deposit all my affiliate cheques at once and let the money sit unless I'm buying something. The other bonus to letting the money sit in a U.S. dollar account is that you can wait out the U.S./Canadian dollar exchange rate. Having a stash of U.S. cash waiting to flip to the Canadian dollar - it's been crappy for about a year now. $3,000 U.S. meant about $4,000 Canadian about a year and a half ago - now it's about $3,400. Like I said - crappy :lol:. IMO it's worthwhile sitting on it if you can. I also have a PayPal debit card - so whenever we travel down to the states it's slick to use the american money sitting in there. My oldest will be 14 in a couple weeks. I have to admit that I am glad I am not facing him driving just yet. How nice to be able to get him a cool ride and to have to paid for! As of right now most of my money goes to business stuff and things like books. I haven't really made a big purchase yet, I spend more on the kids and everyone else. But I do have my dream board over my desk with all the things I will buy someday lol. How very cool! My oldest will be 14 in a couple weeks.
