Writing And Submitting Articles - Tip

By Terry

I have had some *great* articles sent in for my new blog, but I can’t post them. Why?

Because although the articles may be really good, the links within the author resource box or within the article itself point to:

Sites with gambling content
Sites with health/drug/pharm products
Illegal activity (ponzi/pyramid/hyip/etc.)

If you find your article submissions are not being accepted most places, that could be one reason why. Even though the articles themselves may not be about those types of things, the links you want posted in the resource box are.

Not too many places are willing to risk their domain value by pointing links to that kind of content. I personally am very leary of pointing to health related products. I do it very, very sparingly. Same with gambling. Some webmasters may be more open to it. It varies from site to site and what the comfort zone is for each site owner.

I can see my submission guidelines need to be tweaked so it’s clear the content I won’t accept applies to both the article content and the hyperlinks from the author resource box, that’s my fault for not being clear.

But I thought I would pass along the FYI to help you out. If you are trying to earn money online with products or activities that have a darker reputation, you will find it much harder to develop inbound links from more mainstream places.

I’m not sure what the answer is for you because I haven’t dabbled at all in those areas (heck I won’t even try travel because it’s so competitive!), but I do know you are going to have a tougher time developing links with article submissions, link exchanges, even paid text links will be quite a bit more limited.

A website can find itself knocked out of SERPs for linking to too many ‘fishy neighborhoods’. How many is too many? I have no idea, and I’m not itchin to find out.
