Free PHP Directory Script

Well I think I am finally done tweaking the directory over at Fabaroo. Let me tell ya – I spent *hours* on this site – way way too many! πŸ˜†

But I finally settled into an unbelievably great script:

PHP Link Directory

Let’s take a look at some of the features:

Clean, SEO friendly links (important)
Customizable template friendly (important)
RSS feeds available in the categories (optional)
Displays pagerank for the links (optional)
Link validator (important)
URL rewrite (optional)
Visual confirmation (optional)
Kick butt admin panel

The tweaks and options with this script are just crazy! Or as my 15 year old son would say: It’s Rank (apparently that means it’s good :lol:). And the craziest part is: IT’S *FREE*

The support forum is really handled well too, lots of input and feedback and support given.

This script gets a big two thumbs up from me and if you are looking for a directory script – I say check it out.

I've been trying to find my way online for more years than I care to admit.

  1. Hi There,

    I know this post is old, so i am not sure you will even read this comment… but just wanted to comment anyway and hope you see it.

    I have just added PHP Link Directory to my site, and LOVE it!!!

    Have a quick question for you, how did you get the URL & Category counts on your page?

  2. I agree Kel – the script *rocks* πŸ™‚

    Here’s what I added to the template > main.tpl file to get the category and link count:

    {if $category.ID == 0}
    {l}Number of Links{/l}: {$stats[0]} <br />
    {l}Number of Categories{/l}:   {$stats[3]}

    Hopefully that code posts ok.

    I can’t take credit for the smarty pants-ness of it all – I found it on their support forum somewhere :P.

    *You can change ‘Number Of Links’ and ‘Number of Categories’ to any wording you like

  3. Hi Terry,

    Thanks heaps for that. I did have a quick browse through the support forum too… but hadn’t come up with that one yet!

    Will give it a go and see how it works… I love the way your have yours set out, although not sure it would work for me at this stage… not enough links yet. But it is still young. πŸ™‚
