Study The Selling Copy In Mail Order Catalogs
The large mail-order houses, such as J.C. Penney, Sears Roebuck, and L.L. Bean, are masters of the art of selling goods by means of printed words and pictures. The next time you are puzzled as to how to sell a product, study a mail-order catalog and see how the mail-order people approach the subject. In the large mail-order catalogs you will find excellent sales talks for almost every product you can think of.
What a great tip that is! Someone tell me why I insisted on throwing out all those Sears and Canadian Tire catalogs almost as soon as they were delivered < insert slap to forehead doh! smiley here >.
I have this *thing* about catalogs in the house since I was at a garage sale a few years ago where some dear older woman had stacks and stacks and stacks of Sears catalogs for sale (from the 1980s on). I think that’s why I turf mine asap, it scared the bejeebers out of me. 😆
Time to order a catalog 😉
